As the healthcare landscape changes, the Medical Affairs function has begun to play increasingly important roles in clinical development, market education, and regulatory compliance. Now, more than ever, leaders can learn valuable lessons from their peers on how they overcome key challenges.

Last week, Best Practices launched the survey for the 2014-2015 Medical Affairs Consortium. The survey, “Developing Top-Tier Medical Affairs Capabilities,” was designed through understanding Consortium member companies’ needs and using their insights.

Research results will provide participating Medical Affairs and Health Outcomes Leaders with actionable data on the:

• Resource measures for the Medical Affairs function
• Medical Affairs impact measures
• Medical Affairs’ role in launch excellence
• Impact of health outcomes data within the Medical Affairs function
• Management of globalization in Medical Affairs

The research will inform Medical Affairs leaders about how to adapt to a global healthcare environment and what key impact measures communicate the value of Medical Affairs most effectively. In addition, the study seeks answers for how Medical Affairs can support the launch process to maximize a product’s potential and how to leverage outcomes data to develop top-notch thought leader relationships.
